Reading & Inaugural Creative Writing Club Meeting

At 3:00 in the afternoon on Thursday, November 15th, faculty members Dean Stover and Matthew Jolly will give a poetry reading at GateWay Community College, room MA1187. The audience is invited to bring some of their own work to read during an open mic session. Afterwards, GateWay students are invited to participate in the first meeting of the GateWay Community College Creative Writing Club.

Creative Writing Competition

GateWay is currently accepting submissions for the 2007-08 Maricopa Community Colleges Creative Writing Competition. The categories include:

• poetry
• fiction
• essay
• one-act play

Three scholarships will be awarded in each category:

• First Place $300
• Second Place $200
• Third Place $150
